In our world of endless possibilities, filled with crises, disasters, and an uncertain future, we are still in search of a meaningful life. This is a great challenge, especially for young people today. How they face this challenge depends on individual experiences, values, beliefs and dreams.
I am accompanying my daughter in her search for a place that can assist her in this journey. A place that is personally meaningful to her, that strengthens her and can inspire her soul.
As a child of the big city, her longing for more freedom, for space, for nature, and for simplicity is growing. It is a longing for a place she can shape and where she can develop. She describes this place as her “playground”.
She has the courage to follow her longing and break new ground. It is the beginning of an adventure, full of enthu- siasm, joy, doubt, uncertainty, courage and imagination. At the same time it requires a lot of work, patience and growth.

I take pictures to perceive, to make things visible, to under- stand. I create images because through them, I can better describe the complexity and ambiguity of things than words can do that for me.
With my images I do not focus on the loud or extreme side, but rather on the inconspicuous, the subtle tones – on what we might easily overlook as something ordinary.
