When I asked Sine if she wanted to participate in the project „Heimat“, she immediately said yes. We then discussed what „Heimat“ means to her, and a lot came together.

Sine was born in Denmark in 1979 and has been living in Berlin for 15 years. She has two children, aged 9 and 5. She works as an art and history teacher at a Community School in Kreuzberg. She is also active as a photographer.

For her, „Heimat“ means her children, her work, Danish food, the Danish language, feminism, places and people in Berlin, and places and people in Denmark. She often speaks Danish with her children, who understand but respond in German. Every day she listens to Danish radio and is in touch with Danes in Berlin.
